A Boogie wastes little time in establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with, going in over Metro’s staccato synth strings. Unlike some of his fellow Freshman Classmates, A Boogie is able to navigate several styles of hip-hop, blending elements of “mumble rap” with enough lyricism and flow to please some of the purists. On this track, Boogie delivers two intense verses, and by the time the doubled voice enters the mix, he’s well and truly snapping. It’s a good look for the young rapper, and should serve as proof to the doubters that yes, a newcomer can still go in if provoked by the right instrumental.
Lyrically, A Boogie comes through with some classic bravado, flaunting his penchant for fashion, ability to seduce and lay with your wife with utmost ease, and getting high as hell off the sticky icky. Nothing too innovative, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
